Sudden Cardiac Death

Here are some things to consider doing. Some items may not be applicable to you.

Claims approx. 400,000 lives every year
Caused by a heart abnormality called Long QT Syndrome

Prevention of sudden cardiac death:

  • it is very preventable (with beta blocker medication) once diagnosed
  • See a cardiologist
  • Have a electrocardiogram (EKG) conducted
  • Have a blood test to determine if you have Long QT Syndrome
  • Look for symptoms such as:
    • Fainting
    • Dizziness
    • Rapid or irregular heartbeat
