Here are some things to consider doing. Some items may not be applicable to you.
- Ensure both feet touch ground when straddling the cross bar of the bike
- Ensure the down leg is slightly bent when properly seated with foot on pedal in lowest position
- Get a seat which supports your weight on both buttocks vice your crotch area excessive riding on a standard seat with too much pressure on the crotch area can cause impotence and numbness
- Also buy a helmet
