- Check canopy/crown for:
- Dead, dying or weak branches

- Check base of tree for:
- Remove other roots and plants which might inhibit the ability of the tree’s roots to collect water and nutrients
Additional Tips for Tree Care:
-
Watering: Especially during dry spells, ensure trees receive adequate water. Deep watering encourages roots to grow deeper, improving the tree’s resilience.
-
Mulching: Apply a layer of mulch around the base of the tree to retain moisture, regulate soil temperature, and reduce weeds. Avoid piling mulch against the trunk to prevent rot.
-
Pruning: Trim dead or weak branches to improve tree health and reduce the risk of falling limbs. Proper pruning also helps maintain the tree’s shape and encourages new growth.
-
Pest Monitoring: Keep an eye out for signs of insect infestations such as holes in leaves, sawdust, or sticky residue on branches. Early detection can prevent serious damage.
-
Professional Assessment: For large trees or any concerns about disease or structural issues, consider hiring a certified arborist for a thorough inspection and expert advice. Sierra Crest Tree Service keeps properties safe with prompt and expert care.
-
Soil Testing: Occasionally test soil around your trees to check for nutrient deficiencies or imbalances, which can be corrected through fertilization or soil amendments.
Proper tree care not only enhances the beauty of your landscape but also protects your property and promotes a healthy ecosystem.
