Sun

Here are some things to consider doing. Some items may not be applicable to you.

Before going outside:

  • Avoid going outside, and especially avoid going into the sun, during the hottest part of the day (usually 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
  • Apply a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15 (don’t use sunscreen if it might cause an adverse reaction with medication you’re taking)
  • Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing to protect as much of your skin as feasible
  • Wear a wide-brimmed hat
  • Wear sunglasses

Parents/adults:

  • Set a good example for kids
