Identity Theft
To help prevent identity theft:
- Don’t give your social security number to people you’re not sure of
- Install a lockable mail box
- Don’t leave outgoing mail in an unlocked, accessible mailbox
- Shred documents with personal information on them, e.g., unwanted credit card applications you receive in the mail
