To help avoid Fraud:
1. Verify and validate who you are dealing with
2. Do a total, COMPLETE and exhaustive web search on the person or the business.
3. Fraudulent types usually have a history of different Business Names and varied Individual’s names. They will terminate one and morph into another to hide their tracks
4. Because of number 3 above, organizations like The Better Business Bureau are hardly ever aware of them, if at all
5. Fraudulent types are Professionals. They’ve generally been at it, have a proven system, and have their “act” down solid.Beware!
6. In the case of “Services,” don’t be swayed or taken by a good line of promises. They’llsing their lines as sweetly as a Nightingale. Demand tangible deliverables in wrtiting. If they can’t do that, ‘fugidaboudit, OK!’
7. Never pay by Check, Debit Card, or in Cash.
8. There is some level of protection in using a Credit Card to pay for services, AND, don’t count on it. They will be able to show that they delivered their core offer, which is couched insolid language. That’s why I said they have their act down solid.
9. Don’t get sucked-in by the attractiveness of their offer. Said differently, be a rational buyer rather than an emotional consumer.
