Contests
If you have a chance to enter a contest (e.g., junk mail):
- Be aware that many contests are put on for the purpose of creating lists of people who are gullible so that dishonest telemarketers, etc. can target them
If you are told that you have won a prize in a contest:
- Be aware that it may be a scam in which your prize is very cheap and you are told you need to buy products and/or call an expensive 900 number to qualify
