Well before using an ATM:

• Avoid using ATM’s between 7 p.m. and midnight • 50% of crime at ATM’s occurs during these hours
• Try to choose an ATM which is:
  • Well lit
  • In a busy area
  • A drive through

Before using an ATM:

• Have card ready
• Have forms filled out

While using an ATM:

• Be aware of your surroundings
• Watch for suspicious people and activity
• Use mirrors at the ATM to watch behind you

If using a drive-through ATM:

• Keep car running
• Only open the driver’s window

After using ATM:

• Don’t count or display money

After withdrawing money:

• Don’t show the money
• Don’t stay in the area

If someone approaches:

• Drive away quickly
