Bedtime:

If your child resists going to bed:

  • Get home from work a little earlier and start getting your child ready for bed earlier
  • Don’t give your child choices after a certain time (e.g., one hour before bedtime), just tell your child what’s going to happen
  • Establish a routine for bedtime (e.g., brush teeth, use bathroom, read stories, talk)
  • When you notice your child getting tired and/or sleepy, start getting him/her ready for bed
