Here are some things to consider doing. Some items may not be applicable to you.
Miscarriages
Up to 20% of pregnancies in the U.S. end in miscarriage
Clinical depression after a miscarriage is fairly common 1 of every 10 women who have a miscarriage, 1 of every 6 women who are childless and 1 of every 2 women who have a medical history of depression
Within approx. two weeks after the miscarriage:
- See your doctor
- Have your doctor evaluate you for signs of clinical depression
If you or your doctor suspects you might be suffering from clinical depression:
- Get a referral to a mental health specialist
If you know someone who has suffered a miscarriage:
- Be sympathetic and understanding
