Here are some things to consider doing. Some items may not be applicable to you.

Alcohol

Before drinking alcohol:

  • Ensure you won’t need to drive a vehicle for at least approx. 12 hours, e.g., the next day
  • Make arrangements for getting home, e.g.:
    • Designated driver
    • Taxi
  • Be aware that everyone’s tolerance for alcohol is different
  • Be aware that drinking coffee, etc. after drinking alcohol does not help to reduce the effects of alcohol

Drinking alcohol:

  • Men: for optimum health, don’t drink more than approx. two alcoholic drinks per day
  • Women: for optimum health, don’t drink more than approx. one alcoholic drink per day

After drinking alcohol:

  • Don’t drive a vehicle

If you need to go somewhere:

  • Ask a friend to help you
