- Ensure boat has following on board:
- Life preservers for everyone
- Compass
- Fire extinguisher(s)
- Signal devices
- Something to bail with
- Provisions, e.g., water
- Extra fuel
- Warm clothing
- Flashlight(s)
- Wear a life preserver
While boating:
- Observe rules of the road
- Ensure driver doesn’t drink alcohol
- Regularly check for water leaking into boat
